Sun Temple Travel Map

The Sun Temple also known as Katarmal, is one of the most ancient temples of Almora and said to be almost 800 years old. It lies at 25 km from the town of Ranikhet and the way to reach this temple is mainly by a trekking route.This temple is surrounded by 44 smaller shrines. Main attractions of this temple include its ancient architectural patterns and exquisite stone carvings. Its 12th century structure is preserved and maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India.
