Govind National Park is located amidst dense forests that are home to several varieties of medicinal plants. Some of the medicinal plants here have been utilized for the production of life saving drugs.There are about 150 species of bird and about 15 species of mammals at this national park. Animals found here include bharal, black bears, brown bears, common leopards, Himalayan tahrs, musk deer and the very rare snow leopards. Some of the endangered species of birds located here include bearded vultures, black eagles, Himalayan snow cocks, golden eagles, monal pheasants, koklas pheasants, steppe eagles and western tragopans.Other common birds found here are buntings, bulbuls, cuckoos, finches, minivets, owls, pigeons, parakeets, thrushes, tits and warblers.
