The Corbett National Park is one of the several tiger reserves created in India during the launch of Project Tiger, in the year 1973. The reserve covers an area of nearly 500 sq km. The domain of the Corbett National Park includes the Kalagarh Forest division and the Ramnagar Forest division.The park is home to more than 600 species of wildlife including tigers, chital, elephants, nilgai, sambar and king cobras among others. There are several accommodation facilities available within and outside the sanctuary.
