Almora

Surrounded by the mesmerising ranges of the Himalaya, the lively town of Almora is shaped like a horse-shoe. Famous for its rich unique handicrafts, delicious cuisine, cultural heritage and wildlife, hill station has been significant from the pre-British era. How to reach Almora

By Air

The nearest airport to Almora is located at Pantnagar which is located at a distance of about 110 km. It takes 4 hour drive from here to reach Almora.

By Train

Kathgodam is the nearest railway station to reach Almora. You can take a train up to Kathgodam and hire a taxi or cab thereafter. Almora is at 90 km away from Almora and usually takes upto 2.5 hours to reach there.

By Road

If you are on a backpacking trip, you can take the Uttarakhand Roadways buses available at regular interval from ISBT in Anand Vihar in New Delhi. The journey takes about 10–12 hours via NH 24, which connects Delhi to Rampur via Hapur. At Rampur, you need to switch to another bus for NH 87, which will take you to Almora. The roads leading to Almora are smooth, thanks to the national highway connectivity. It will take around 8-10 hours to reach Almora from Delhi if you are travelling via car or taxi.
