Kalpeshwar Mandir is visited to worship Lord Shiva as 'Jatadhar', because of the existence of entwined hair. It is situated at a height of 2,134 m above the sea level in Chamoli district. This is the only temple out of the five temples of Panch Kedar that remains open in all the seasons.The temple tree Kalpavriksha acts as a perfect spot for sages for meditating. According to the mythology, Sage Arghya had produced a nymph named Urvashi at this site. It is believed that Rishi Durvasa also meditated under Kalpavriksha. Kalpeshwar Mandir can be easily reached from Helang that is at a distance of 11 km.
