Company Gardens Allahabad
Company Gardens, also called Alfred Park, is located at the heart of the Allahabad city. It is not only the biggest and most beautiful gardens in the city, but also witness to an important incident of India's freedom struggle during the last century. It was at this garden that the brave heart of freedom struggle Chandra Shekhar Azad was forced to take his own life when he was about to be captured by British force. A statue of Azad, erected at the place where he died, is the main attraction of Company Gardens. Families visiting the park can find other attractions like the statues of King George V and Victoria installed at the centre of this garden. There is a small play area for children as well. The garden, situated just behind the Allahabad Museum, is easily accessible from all parts of the city. The park is open to public from 5 AM to 11 PM and there is no entry fee.
