Gulab Bari is a rose garden located in Faizabad. Literally meaning the 'Garden of Roses', this place has a beautiful collection of various varieties of roses set by the sides of fountains. This well maintained garden is built with a perfect symmetry and is surrounded by a wall and is approachable through two large gateways.Other than being a recreational center, this garden is also home to many historical monuments. The Tomb of Nawab Shuja-ud-Daula, the third Nawab of Awadh, and his parents are found in this garden. The tomb of Nawab Shuja-ud-Daula lies in the center with that of his mother to his left and father to his right. Apart from the tombs, Gulab Bari also has a Mosque and the tomb of an unknown holy Muslim man, which is better known as Imambara. This Imambara is located on the southern side of the three tombs lie.Established in 1775, Gulab Bari is preserved by the Archaeological Survey of India and renovation work is underway that includes chemical treatment, plastering, providing pathways, and repair work of the tombs.Situated on the Chowk-Ayodhya Road, Gulab Bari is easily approachable.
