Dilwara is one of the renowned Jain pilgrimage centres and is famous for the Dilwara Temples. As per the belief, these temples were constructed between the 11th and 13th centuries. The five temples of the Dilwara group are the Vimala Vasahi Temple, Luna Vashi Temple, Risah Deo Temple, Parshvanath Temple and Mahavir Swami Temple. Among these temples, the first one was established by Vimal Shah in 1021 AD. The Parshvanath Temple is considered as the tallest temple amongst all. The Vimala Vasahi Temple and Luna Vashi Temple are built using white marble. All these temples are enclosed by a walled courtyard and each one of them has an idol installed in the centre. Another attraction of this place is the Adinath Temple, an ancient Jain Temple that was built in the 15th century. This temple is famous for a 4.5 tonne brass image of the tirthankara.
