Kumbhalgarh

Kumbhalgarh also known as Kumbhal fort is a Mewar fortress located in the Rajsamand district which is located near Udaipur, Rajasthan. It is a World Heritage Site included in Hill Forts, built during the course of the 15th century by Rana Kumbha, Kumbhalgarh is also the birthplace of Maharana Pratap, the great king and warrior of Mewar. Kumbalgarh is located 82 km northwest of Udaipur by road. It is the most important fort in Mewar after Chittaurgarh.

In 2013, at the 37th session of the World Heritage Committee held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, Kumbhalgarh Fort, along with five other forts of Rajasthan, was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site under the group Hill Forts of Rajasthan. The length of wall is 38 kms, the fort is among the largest wall complex in the world, and the second largest fort in Rajasthan after Chittor Fort.

By Air

The nearest airport to Kumbhalgarh is the Udaipur airport. From there, you can take a bus, cab or car to Kumbhalgarh.

By Train

There is no railway station in Kumbhalgarh you can a get a train to Rani or Khimel on regular basis. Raini Railway station Kumbhalgarh is 35 kms and Khimel railway station to Kumbhalgarh is 35 kms.

By Road

There are frequent bus services to Kumbhalgarh from all major cities and towns in and around Rajasthan.
