Ranakpur Jain Temple
Ranakpur Jain Temple is located in Ranakpur Village of Pali district and is known for its architecture. Situated on the western part of the Aravalli Hills, this temple is constructed with light coloured marbles. Besides, it has a basement, which covers an area of around 48,000 sq. feet. Moreover, it was counted among the top 77 wonders of the world while deciding the seven wonders. It was built by Seth Dharna Shah, a famous Jain businessman, in the 15th century. King Rana Kumbha helped Seth Dharna Shah in the construction of this temple on the condition that the temple would be named after him. These temples are considered as one of five major pilgrimages centres for followers of Jainism.The complex of the temple comprises Chaumukha Temple, Surya Temple and Amba Mata Temple. Parsavnath Temple is another attraction that is located in the vast temple complex. It was built in the mid 15th century and is famous for its carved windows. This temple possesses two other temples, which are dedicated to Lord Surya Narayan (Sun God) and Lord Neminath (The 22nd Tirthankara).
