Chaumukha Temple is located in the complex of Ranakpur Jain Temple at Ranakpur Village. Among all temples of Ranakpur, the most famous temple is Chaumukha Temple where Chaumukha meansfour faced. This temple has four entrance doors leading towards the main hall through the chambers, where the main deity of Lord Adinath is placed. Furthermore, it is supported by more than 1,400 carved pillars.It was built in the form ofNalinigulm Vimana within a span of around 65 years. The time taken in building the temple was because of the convolution of its structure. All four images of the idol are faced towards all the directions and are surrounded by various domes and shrines. Moreover, these domes and shrines are surrounded by many cells with segregated roofs.There are 5 spires and around 20 cupolas, which elevate from the top of the main pillared hall. The largest spire, among all the 5 spires, has the image of Lord Adinath. Further, there is a shrine under every spire. Apart from this, the ceiling of this temple is constructed with the geometric designs and scrollwork. Within its premises, the temple has 24 pillared halls along with 80 domes, supported by 400 columns. It also possesses a series of brackets, having sculptures of deities on their surface that link the upper part of the dome with the lower parts. Apart from this, the carved nymphs, located at a height of 45 ft is another major attraction of this temple. Chaumukha Temple has a prayer hall or mandap, possessing two colossal bells, weighing 108 kg each.
