Sitabari, situated a kilometre from Kelwara on the national highway connecting Kota-Shivpuri, is a famous pilgrimage spot near Baran. This place is believed to be the birthplace of Luv-Kush, sons of Rama and Sita. It is also the site where Sita used to live with her sons after she was abandoned by her husband, Lord Rama. There is an old temple at this site which is dedicated to Sita and Lakshman along with seven water tanks or kunds. The prominent kunds include Balmiki Kund, Sita Kund, Laxman Kund, Surya Kund and Luv-Kush Kund. These kunds along with the temple are situated near an old Sita Kuti that lies in the forest area. The temple is also famous for an annual Sahariya Fair that is held between May and June.
