The Bagmandala village is located near the town of Shriwardhan and is historically linked with the Peshwa Dynasty. The village used to be the residence of the Peshwas of the Maratha kingdom. The Peshwa Smarak and the Bankot Fort are popular tourist attractions.The Jungle Jetty is considered as the prime attraction of the village, which is a sea harbour in the forest. Travellers can reach the Bagmandala creek through this sea harbour. Ferry rides are available from the Bankot Fort that take visitors to the nearby Ratnagiri Fort.
