Gangasagar Lake Travel Map

The Gangasagar Lake is an artificial lake situated in Pachad, built during the rule of Chhatrapati Shivaji. It is said that the lake was built during Shivaji's coronation with the water of River Ganges. This lake lies in front of the Raigad Fort and its surroundings comprise of snow clad peaks. The Queen's Chamber lies just adjacent to this lake and the ruins of watchtower of the fort are also seen around the place. The water of this lake is also a major source of drinking water for the nearby villages and the resorts situated on the hill top.
