Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park has been open to the public since 1999. Commonly known as the Rajiv Gandhi Zoo, it is managed by the Pune Municipal Corporation. Within its 165 acres of area, the zoo contains an animal orphanage, a snake park, and a zoo, along with the 42-acre Katraj Lake. After becoming a rescue centre for wild animals, collections of Peshwe Park were moved to this zoo. Reptiles, mammals and some birds find abode in the zoo.
