The architectural design of this temple is similar to the nearby Trimbakeshwar Temple. The 70 ft temple was built in 1794 by Gopikabai Peshwa. The temple is built of black stone, from the mines of Ramsej Hill and consists of a gold-plated copper peak. The temple houses ornamental icons of Rama, Sita and Lakshman. A number of smaller temples surround this temple such as Ganapati Temple, Vithal Temple and Maruti Temple.
