Prabal Fort Travel Map

Prabal Fort, however in ruins, is among the most ancient monuments of the region. The fort was perched on Prabal Hills on the western side of Matheran. This historical fort was captured by the Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Shivaji from Mughals. As per historians, there was treasure at the fort during the time of capture.Along with two gateways and eleven towers in the fortification, there is a pond on top of Prabal hills. The gateways were partly destroyed in the uncongenial fights of 1818. Presently, walls of four towers stand as a testimony of the days of yore.
