Kudal is situated in the Sindhudurg District and is considered as one of the ancient settlements of the Konkan Region. The town is famous for the annual Jatra Fair organised at the Kudaleshwar temple. Other prominent attractions in the town are the Rangana Garh Fort, Shree Devi Laxmi Mandir, Deo Dongar Machhindranath Mandir and Shree Dev Bhairav temple. The Shree Maruti Mandir, Shree Devi Bhavani Mandir and St. John Bosco Church are also located in the town.
