Gowalkot Fort
Gowalkot Fort is located about 10 km from Chiplun and covers an area of over two acres of land. This fort was constructed in 1690 by Habshi of Janjira and was renovated by Chhatrapati Shivaji in 1670. It is currently in ruins and is covered by trees and buildings. The fort lies on the Mumbai-Goa Highway and is about 250 km away from the Mumbai city. It overlooks the Vashishti River and can be reached on foot from Chiplun.
