Chikhaldara Wildlife Sanctuary is also known as Wan Wildlife Sanctuary situated in Melghat area. It is a part as well as an extension of the Melghat Tiger Reserve located in the south-east direction. The sanctuary has tropical dry deciduous forests with rich bio-diversity of flora and fauna. wild boar, panther, sloth bear and sambar are some of the animals that can be spotted in the sanctuary. The flora of the place includes tiwas, dhaoda and many other plants. A beautiful spot at this place is the Chilka Lake, which is an important tourist attraction. This sanctuary is maintained and managed by the Indian Forest Authorities of Maharashtra. Tourists can reach the destination by taking buses and taxis from the city.
