Bawanthadi River, one of the prominent water bodies of the destination, originates from the Kurai plateau of Seoni district in Madhya Pradesh. The river flows into the destination from its southern side and functions as an interstate boundary between the two states. After covering the length of around 48 km the river merges with Wainganga River. At the assemblage of these rivers, a dam is constructed for providing irrigation facilities to the villages located in its vicinity. The dam is built at the Sitekasa village of Maharashtra, which is dotted with sandy riverbed of Bawanthadi River.
