Kurisumala Hill is situated about 5 km away from Vagamon and is considered to be an important religious centre for Christians. There is a church located at the top of this hill, which has fourteen crosses on its pathway. Devotees carry small wooden crosses during the holy week, while climbing the Kurisumala Hill. To the east of this church is another hill, known as the Murugan Mala, which has a rock cut temple devoted to Lord Murugan. While climbing the hill, devotees can see an old European house and an artificial lake, that were designed by Laurie Baker. Many tea estates and dense forests are located nearby, that are suitable for camping and trekking.
