Puthen Malika Palace
Puttan Malika Palace, situated towards the south-east of Sri Padmanabhaswami Temple of Thiruvananthapuram, is one of the main attractions of the city. The palace, which became the seat of the Travancore kings after they left Padmanabhapuram, represents the rich culture and tradition of Kerala. Though majority of the palace is still restricted to the public, some sections function as museums and are kept open to the public. Puttan Malika Palace offers a unique collection of exhibits such as the crystal throne, murals, portraits, royal regalia and weapons. The palace premises has also become the venue for the Carnatic Music Festival conducted during the Navarathri Festival.
