Panamaram

Panamaram village is associated with India's freedom struggle, as it was the 1st place in South India to witness revolt against the British rule. The old Panamaram Fort was the place where the followers of Pazhassi Raja, Thalakkal Chantju and Edachena Kunkan Nair captured the British infantry. Another important attraction is the Panamaram Heronry, one of the largest heronries in the Malabar region.
