Vaniyamkulam
Vaniyamkulam is dotted with the ruins of monuments that have been constructed during the reign of Chera Perumal. It is often referred to as the prominent trading hub of southern Malabar and falls under the Nedunganda region, which was once ruled by the Chera kings. The place is situated close to Kothakurssi, where the Chera rulers first settled in Malabar area. This village organises a flea market every Thursday. In this market, local handicrafts and homemade products are displayed. The banks of the Bharathapuzha River, the longest and most important river in the region, are also frequently visited by tourists.
