Thusharagiri Waterfalls
Thusharagiri Waterfalls, situated in the Western Ghats, is thronged by several tourists. Two streams, originating at the Western Ghats, meet here to form the Chalippuzha River. The name of the attraction, Tusharagiri, means snowy spray. The attraction was named so because of the snowy spray created by the Chalippuzha River when it diverges into the three waterfalls. Thenpara is the highest waterfall that falls from an altitude of 75 m. It is located at around 45 km from Calicut and has a crocodile farm run by the forest department. Moreover, this waterfall is located at Kodencherry in Kozhikode District and is known as trekkers' paradise. Trekkers coming to this place can start trekking early in the morning, covering the places with plantations of pepper, rubber, areca nut, ginger and various other spices. Besides these plantations, trekkers can trek through the dense evergreen forests with exotic birds and animals and thereafter head towards Vythiri and Wayanad Districts by evening.
