Mar Thoma Shrine is situated at Azhikode, where the renowned Saint Thomas landed for the first time in India during his mission of propagating Christianity. Mar Thoma Shrine is considered among the most renowned churches in Kerala. Mar Thoma Shrine was built to honour Saint Thomas, who was one of the disciples of Jesus Christ. This church, which displays the Indo - Persian architectural style, has preserved the holy relics of St. Thomas or Marthoma Sleha at the altar.
