The Malankara Reservoir is situated at a distance of around 6 km from Thodupuzha. This artificial lake is considered ideal for boating and fishing. The site is backed by a tail-gate of the Moolamattom Power House, constructed for managing the water of the Malankara Dam and the Malankara Reservoir. It spreads over an area of around 11 km and is part of the Muvattupuzha Valley. Tourists visiting the site can also spend time at the Kudayathoor Hills, Elaveezhapoonjira Waterfalls, Nadukani, Idukki Wildlife Sanctuary and Cheruthoni Dam.
