The Palayur Church is one of the seven ancient churches established by the apostle, St. Thomas, in Kerala. This church portrays the life of St. Thomas and is famous for its architectural work. Around 14 granite statues that reflect various stages of St. Thomas' life were installed at the entrance of this church. The major pilgrimage of this religious site is the Palayur Mahatheerthadanam, during which the devotees carry a wooden cross. The other festivals that are celebrated in this church are the Thukharana Thirunal, Muppittu Njayar and Tharpana Thirunal.
