This ancient temple is located at Thirunavaya, on the shores of Bharathapuzha. It is dedicated to Nava Mukunda, a form of Lord Vishnu. It is said that the idol of this temple is the ninth idol that was installed by saints known as Navayogis. Thirunavaya was the location for the festival called Mamankam, the warrior fights held once in 12 years. The 28 days festival was the assembly of royal family members. Devotees come to the beaches of Thirunavaya to offer last rites to the loved ones.
