The fort of Nalagarh, which is now a heritage hotel, was built by Raja Bikram Chand in 1421 AD. The fort spans almost 10 acres on the top of a hillock and rises above an estate of approx 20 acres of orchards and forests. The view of the Shivalik Hills and its surroundings attracts many to this place.Nalagarh Fort is a 5 hour drive away from Delhi and is 1 hour north of Chandigarh. The fort is built in five levels, in the Mughal style of architecture. The fort was converted into a hotel and now it is popular as Hotel Nalagarh Fort Palace. The Diwan-E-Khas of the fort, which is now the conference or banquet hall, was built by Raja Sansar Chand in 1618 AD
