Kufri is a small hill station at a height of 2,510 m and is at a distance of around 12 km from the destination. The name of the site is derived from the word 'Kufr' meaning “lake” in the native language. Kufri is popular for the Himalayan Nature Park which is home to rare antelopes, felines and birds. It also provides shelter to the Himalayan Monal, the state bird of Himachal Pradesh.The Indira Tourist Park is situated in proximity to the Himalayan National Park. The park has a popular coffee shop, also known as Cafe Lalit, which is run by the Himachal Tourism Board.
