Green Valley
Green Valley is a picnic spot in Shimla, the summer capital of India during the British regime. It lies on National Highway 22, 7 km away from Shimla on the way to Kufri Hill station. This site is easily noticeable for those who are travelling from Shimla to Kufri. As the name suggests this valley surrounded by small mountains with pine forests is as green as one can imagine.Many tourists use Green Valley as a stopover to relax and enjoy the landscaped valleys and mountains. A photography session is a must for the tourists at Green valley. A walk around the pine forest or just relaxing under the shades will help in rejuvenating yourself. Kufri hill station is close by where tourists can explore their scenic surroundings while horse riding. Yak riding is also famous here. Kufri Fun World and Himalayan Wild Life Zoo are nearby attractions. Nalderha Golf Course, Jakhu Temple, Hussan valley and Tatta Pani Springs are also worth a visit.October to May is the best time to visit Green Valley. There are also some private home stays near the destination and it is also easily accessible from Shimla by local means of transport like taxis.
