Parwanoo

Known more as an industrial township than as a hill getaway, Parwanoo sits in the foothills of the Shivalik range, not too far from the Haryana and Punjab borders. Its location might deny it the best of the Himalayan treats that grace Himachal’s more mountainous parts, but it does make it a very convenient base for exploring the nearby region: Kalka Station, from where you can get on to the Shimla toy train, is virtually next door (3 km), while less than an hour’s drive away are several picturesque destinations that are yours to choose from – Kasauli, Barog and Dagshai. 

But Parwanoo isn’t bereft of its own attractions.
