Bijli Mahadev Temple
The Bijli Mahadev Temple is located in Kullu across the River Beas. From the temple, views of both Kullu and Parvati Valleys can be availed. The temple is famous for its 60 feet high staff. Lord Shiva is the presiding deity of the temple. Situated at a height of 2,450 metres, the temple displays Pahari style of architecture.It is believed that the Shivlinga in the temple had broken into pieces due to lightning and the temple priest joined it with butter. The recurring phenomenon of joining the Shivlinga with butter occurs every year. The uphill path that leads to this sacred shrine is flanked by pine trees
