Khajjiar Lake And Ground Travel Map

The Khajjiar Lake and Ground can be reached via the Bakrota Hills from Dalhousie. On the way to the Kalatop Khajjiar Sanctuary, one can see the Lakkad Mandi and further down, the Khajjiar ground with the lake located centrally in it.This spot is ideal for photography and has also featured in lots of movies. The lake is considered holy due to its long association with the idol of the Khajji Nag Temple. This perennial lake is fed by a number of tiny water streams.Situated at a distance of 20 km from Dalhousie, the Khajjiar Lake covers an area of about 5000 sq yards. On the lake, some clusters of grasses and weeds have grown that appear like a floating island, and is the major attraction. The spot around the lake, situated at an elevation of 1950 m above sea level, is a popular picnicking area.
