Though Dharamshala is primarily known for its Tibetan settlements and monasteries set amidst the snowy peaks of Dhauladar ranges, this mini Lhasa is also known for its extensive cover of tea gardens. Though not as popular as Assam tea or Darjeeling tea, the tea produced in Dharamshala mostly comes from the tea gardens on the way to Palampur and Kangra Valley.
