Chail Sanctuary, located at the top of the mountains, has varying altitudes, ranging from 701 m to 2180 m above sea level. Covering an area of 10,854.36 hectares, this sanctuary is home to ghoral, kakkar, sambhar and many other animals. The sanctuary has a dense forest cover which includes pine trees, shrubs, deodar trees, oak trees, cedar trees and grasslands.Various animals like the rhesus macaque, Indian muntjac, leopard and others can be spotted by tourists at this sanctuary. Furthermore, animals like European red deer, Himalayan black bear, sambar, common langur and black-napped hare can also be seen.The sanctuary consists of Machan like sighting posts, which have been built at Khuruin. It enables tourists to get a better view of the wildlife. This sanctuary is thronged by bird watchers, wildlife lovers and nature lovers throughout the year
