Goddess Ambe Temple
Goddess Ambe temple is an ancient temple built in the 12th century and is situated on the Girnar mountain. The temple is devoted to one of the forms of Goddess Amba. As per legend, Goddess Amba was worshipped by the deities of the pre-Aryan race at this site. Along with the footprints of the goddess, the imprints of her chariot are believed to have been seen during the construction of the temple. According to mythology, the ceremony of tonsure of Lord Krishna took place at this temple. A golden yantra which has inscriptions of about 51 shlokas can be seen in the temple. The Bhavai, a popular folk drama, is performed in the courtyard of the temple.
