The temple of Nagesh is situated in Bandora Village, 4 km to the east of Ponda. The temple, built in 1413, is dedicated to an incarnation of Lord Shiva. The temple is also famous as a 'Swayambhu' shrine of Lord Shankar, which is popular for its miraculous myths. The temple has a 5 storey high 'Deepstambh' or lamp tower and one ancient water tank, similar to most of the temples of Goa. The presiding deities of this temple are Shri Nagesh Maharudra, Shri Laxmi Narayan and Shri Ganapati.
