Margao

Margao, also known as Moddganv or Margaon, is the second largest city and commercial capital of Goa. Located in the Salcete taluka, the city serves as the administrative headquarters of South Goa District. Tourists to Margao can visit City Hall, Municipal Garden, Narcinva D. Naik residence or Damodar Sal and Dambaba Saal, which are among the prominent landmarks of the city. Closed Market or Mercado de Afonso de Albuquerque, Anna Fonte, Old Market or Mercado Velho and Holy Spirit Church are some of the popular attractions of the site. Other places that can be visited include the chapel at Monte Hill, the Hindu crematorium and the Muslim burial ground that are located on Pajifond's Rua das Saudades. Pajifond, Gogol, Aquem, Malbhat, Borda, Kharebandh, Navelim, Old Market and Comba are some of the prominent suburbs of the city. Tourists can also visit the Grace Church, the St Sebastian Church, Hari Mandir, Maruti Mandir and Sai Baba Temple that are located nearby.
