Terekhol Fort
Terekhol Fort, a 17th century fort, was built by Maharaja Khem Sawant Bhonsale. In 1764, the fort was rebuilt by the Portuguese Viceroy, Dom Pedro Miguel de Almeida. During the 1825 armed revolt, the Viceroy of Goa, Dr. Bernardo Peres de Silva, used the fort strategically, for fighting against the Portuguese. There is an old church, the St. Anthony's Church, situated inside the Terekhol Fort, which is open only on special occasions like the annual feast in May.
