Tiracol Fort

Tiracol Fort is one of the prominent attractions of the destination, which was captured by the Portuguese and rebuilt in 1764. Later, during the liberation of Goa, the fort was used by various freedom fighters. The 16th century Tiracol Fort is located on the coast of Arabian Sea and is famous for its architectural work. It is situated at a distance of 16.4 km from Anjuna-Beach and is built on the northern side of the banks of River Tiracol. The fort has now been transformed into a heritage hotel and provides a beautiful view of the gun enclosures, Tiracol River and the vast Arabian Sea. The fort also has an old church in its courtyard known as St. Anthony Church. Tourists can visit this church only on special occasions and has a classical style of architecture.
