Akshardham
Akshardham is a beautiful temple complex in Delhi, which is an imitation of the Akshardham in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. Popularly known as Swaminarayan Akshardham, this temple is moderated by Pramukh Swami Maharaja, who is the spiritual head of the Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha. Inaugurated on 6 November, 2005, this temple displays 1000 years of traditional Indian and Hindu culture, spirituality, and architecture.The major attraction of the temple is the main monument, which is situated in the heart of the complex. This 43 m high monument is adorned with the intricate carvings of flora, fauna, dancers, musicians, and spiritual deities. The most unique feature of this monument is that is stands without the support or steel or concrete. Only Rajasthani pink sandstone and Italian Carrara marble have been used to construct the temple. 3.4 m high statue of Swaminarayan is the presiding deity of the temple. Deities of Sita Ram, Radha Krishna, Shiv Parvati, and Lakshmi Narayan also enshrined within the monument.Another attraction of the temple complex is Hall of Values, which is also known as Sahajanand Pradarshan. This hall presents incidents from the life of Bhagwan Swaminarayan through animatronics and diorama presentations. Theatre called Neelkanth Kalyan Yatra, musical fountain called Yagnapurush Kund and Garden of India known as Bharat Upavan, are the other attractions of this temple complex. Additionally, the temple complex houses Yogi Hraday Kamal, Narayan Sarovar and AARSH Centre.Visitors can enjoy boat ride called the Sanskruti Vihar in the artificial river made within the temple complex. Tourists from Noida can Akshardham Metro Station on Blue Line by metro.
